Right on the shore behind the village you have a wonderful view over the lake, whereas the view of the dam is only of an informal nature.

The German railway is building noise barriers in the middle of nowhere, Ballstedt and Vippachedelhausen are each about 1 km away and on the side towards Ballstedt there is also an embankment of almost the same height. 🫣

The embankment is almost as high as the noise barrier and that's in the middle of nowhere. Don't we really have more important places where this is needed? Deutsche Bahn and poor Germany. As an engineer, I have always held our German engineering skills in high esteem. But I'm increasingly finding that key positions are filled by idiots without a job or degree who make impossible decisions and unfortunately are not held accountable for them. 🫣🫣🫣🫣
