モランザーニの航行用閘門は、ヴェネツィアの南ラグーンとブレント川運河の間に位置する重要な水理結節点です。パドヴァからサン・マルコ湾へ航行する人々にとっての入り口であり、本土の淡水と汽水の水位差を克服することを可能にします。 これは単なる工学的な構造物ではありません。周辺地域は、ラグーンの水路からの浚渫土砂管理のための重要な環境再生プロジェクトの対象となっています。現在、この場所は技術的な機能性と領土の保護を統合し、ヴェネツィアを潮汐から保護することと、歴史的な水路の観光および商業利用との間の繊細なバランスの中に位置づけられています。

Fusina is a world unto itself! A must-see for every cyclist in the area, a parallel universe of social interaction, a mix of slow-paced life, people sunbathing and playing cards, and then the rapid comings and goings of cyclists and bikers, stopping for a glimpse of the lagoon and a hello to Venice across the way. Fusina is a marvel!

The point remains panoramic even though the abandoned boat has been removed

A tiny drawbridge, the rare times it's closed for pedestrian passage, you can watch the lock being filled and then emptied to allow boats to pass from the Brenta Canal to the lagoon. It's worth seeing in action!

Completed in 1912, it represents the last type of fortress, a concept brutally swept away in the first months of the Great War. It had six cupolas with 149mm guns, never used and immediately dismantled to be taken to the battle front. On the attack front, it was covered by a large embankment, now removed, exposing the massive reinforced concrete structure. The entire wide, rectangular moat surrounding it has been filled in; the original sliding bridge with riveted iron girders remains. It was maintained and cared for until recently by the Military Property Office. It is located near the Ponte Damo roundabout, not far from the Riviera del Brenta. It is still formally owned by the Military Property Office, under concession to the Municipality of Mira. Currently, although in excellent condition, it cannot be visited. Palladio's work, where one can note the perfect balance and harmony between the architecture and the surrounding landscape. In 1500, the site where the building stands belonged to the Valier family, while the management of the land had been entrusted by the owners to the procurators of San Marco. The procurators subsequently sold the plots of land to Federico Foscari, who died in 1527, leaving his assets to his sons Alvise, Giacomo, and Ferigo. The villa was commissioned by Nicolò and Alvise Foscari in 1555, as Giorgio Vasari also recalls in "The Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects," Florence 1568. Nicolò died before seeing it completed. An inscription in his memory was placed on the façade, under the tympanum: "Nicolaus et aloysius Foscari fratres Federici Filii."
