The beer garden in the Marienstatt Abbey is always worth a visit,

A hamlet straight out of a picture book. The landscape, the houses and the peace and quiet exude pure idyll.

The trail takes you through the magical Elbbach valley, surrounded by wild, romantic forest. It goes past large boulders and always along the rushing river.

On a single-lane road you follow the course of the Nister, which winds its way through the hills and the Nister valley.

Very interesting location. From the winding tower at the top you have a great view of the landscape, e.g. as far as the Siebengebirge. There is a very nice place to stop for a break at the bottom

You definitely have a fantastic view from the top. However, my fear of heights prevented me from climbing any further than the second flight of stairs, and even then I only did so with wobbly legs. Nevertheless, it is a very nice, informative place on the Druidensteig, you can sit down and take a break, the information boards tell you about the history of the tower and mining.

This steep staircase is a very welcome change after all the very wide and flat paths!

The climb is worth it
