It is definitely recommended to walk the entire 3 km around the lake. The stunning views will reward you for your efforts.

The moor lake is located at 998 m above sea level in the municipality of Saignelégier, approximately halfway between Saignelégier and Tramelan. It is 600 m long, at least 60 m wide, and approximately 4.5 m deep. The Étang de la Gruère nature reserve, including the forest area surrounding the lake itself and two other small moor ponds northeast of it, covers an area of approximately 1 km².

The Etang de la Gruère nature reserve is a paradise for nature lovers. Opt for a morning hike to enjoy the calm, and to observe the rising mists over the water.

Beautiful and peaceful nature. The path around the lake is well maintained and easy to walk.

Lac Vert in Haute-Sorne is a small artificial lake located in the Jura mountains, formed by the Sorne river. It is surrounded by forests and pastures, and offers a beautiful emerald color due to the reflection of the trees. You can enjoy the scenery and the refreshing water of the lake, or continue to the Pichoux gorges for a longer hike. Lac Vert in Haute-Sorne is an ideal destination for trail runners who want to discover the Jura region.

The Plain-de-Saigne pond is a small artificial lake located in Montfaucon. It's a great place to picnic and admire the reflections of the sky and trees on the water. You can also learn about the history of the lake, which was once home to a mill and peat extraction site.

A lovely rest area by a pond (Etang). It's truly one of the highlights of the tour.
