The Source du Doubs is a powerful karst spring in a heavily karstified area of the Jura Mountains. It is located near Mouthe, in the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, at an altitude of 937 m at the foot of the wooded, up to 1419 m high Mont Risoux mountain range, which marks the border between France and Switzerland. The Doubs rises from a cave in the rock from a small, approximately five-meter-deep spring basin. In Lucelle you have the possibility to get supplies at the gas station. I didn't see anything to stop by. But I wasn't looking for it either. At the lake there are benches in the sun and in the shade. The fauna on the lake was rather sparse. The small stream with the tiny waterfall is quite picturesque. But the place is nice for a short rest and pause.

Saint Ursanne is a town with a very special flair. In summer we swim in the Doubs - a very special experience for me. We had dinner at the Hôtel Restaurant les Deux Clefs - also a very special experience. A beautiful restaurant and a super nice boss. I can particularly recommend the path along the Doubs to Soubey - beautiful with sandy shores and swimming opportunities. I have never seen fewer people anywhere else.

The nice thing about the little town of Saint-Ursanne is that it makes nature lovers and history buffs happy to the same extent. It's impressive when you walk along the wide strip of the Doubs and have a view of the backdrop of the medieval city. The Pont Saint-Jean alone is a feast for the eyes.
