Aigle flourishes at the foot of the Vaud Prealps, at the crossroads of the Rhône and Grande Eau valleys, in a region where vineyards meet mountains. Its medieval heart houses the arcades of Jerusalem Street, and fountains and sculptures can be discovered in the Cloître, Fontaine, Chapelle, and Bourg districts. Overlooking the town, Aigle Castle, built at the end of the Middle Ages, has housed the Vine and Wine Museum since 1976.

The Château de Saint-Maurice, also known as the “Castle of the Governors”, is located at the entrance to Saint-Maurice in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland.
