Breathtaking view

A grassy mountain pass, connected to a few different routes. The views from this pass are excellent, offering a great view of the Dents du Midi. This pass connects several different ski resorts, including the vast Portes du Soleil area, allowing for a multitude of different adventures across this pass.

Located at an altitude of 1950 meters, the Portes du Soleil pass gave birth to the international Portes du Soleil association. This brings together 12 French and Swiss stations. At the top you can enjoy superb views of the Dents du Midi.

Clinging to the mountain above the Rhône, the Château de Saint-Maurice (15th-17th century) has been a venue since 2005 for major temporary exhibitions for all audiences around the theme of drawing, press cartoons and comic. It also presents a permanent exhibition on its history, access to which is commonly available through the temporary exhibition. The town of Saint-Maurice, located on the Rhône at the end of Lake Geneva, is tucked away at the foot of a looming rock face and is known for its rich past. The place, inhabited since classical antiquity, grew into a stronghold of Christianity at the end of the 3rd century AD. The abbey, the oldest monastery in the Avondland, which has been inhabited since the beginning of its existence, is now home to about forty Augustinians and a renowned school, with about a thousand students from all over French Switzerland.

The Château de Saint-Maurice, also known as the “Castle of the Governors”, is located at the entrance to Saint-Maurice in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland. This impressive castle is built on the Saint-Maurice Gorge, a location bordered by a steep escarpment on one side and the Rhone River on the other. The castle has a rich history and once played an important role in military and judicial affairs.
