The palace was built between 1701 and 1711 as a hunting lodge for Emperor Charles VI. In 1945, the palace was plundered by Soviet occupation troops, and in 1949, it largely burned down. Only the central section of the main building survived; the side wings were gradually reconstructed.

Beautiful castle with a wonderful garden. The castle hotel is located in the adjacent building.

The park is open 24 hours a day, year-round. Cyclists are welcome throughout the entire castle grounds; bike racks can be found in front of the castle and the restaurant. It's worth seeing, a worthwhile destination for a detour or a tour.

The consecration of an older church building was documented in 1714. The pre-Reformation parish was rebuilt in 1786. The conversion and expansion of the church took place around 1730 according to a design by Josef Emanuel Fischer von Erlach. The church was renovated in 1856 and restored in 1976/1978. The urn of Archduke Albrecht II of Austria-Teschen, who died in Buenos Aires in 1955, is buried in the church. The beginnings of the parish probably go back to the Middle Ages. After the town was rebuilt in 1673, Franciscan priests from Frauenkirchen looked after the parish of Halbturn. The parish church, at the northern end of the village green (today: Erzherzog-Friedrich-Straße) and in the immediate vicinity of the castle, was built in 1679 under Emperor Joseph I. It is dedicated to Saint Joseph.
