The town of La Roca de Pelencà (or Palencà), or simply "the Rock", is the town located about 2 km south of Vilallonga and at an altitude of 1040 m. The village is stepped on a characteristic cliff - "la Roca" - which presides over the water mixture of the Riera d'Abella with the River Ter. Almost nothing remains of the castle, just a regular carriage wall. The orographic situation made the place easily defensible. The small Romanesque church remains and a portal that years ago constituted the access to the town, as it must have been from the castle, has disappeared, in part, up the shortcut path.

THE LEGEND OF THE TWO LOVERS OF THE ROCK The lord of the Roca de Pelancà castle was very much in love with the daughter of the lord of Rocabruna. That love was reciprocated, but the desire of the two lovers to unite in marriage met with some opposition from her father. According to the girl, La Roca kidnapped her. Then the father, indignant, gathered people from his domains and went to besiege the castle of his outrager. After some time, and faced with the impossibility of supporting himself, de la Roca advised his beloved to give herself to her father, assuming that he would forgive her; he would already disappear in order not to fall into his hands. The girl did not allow it and wanted to share the same fate of her beloved. Assaulting the castle and with no possible escape, both of them, embracing each other, threw themselves over the highest part of the cliff.

Milany Castle is a castle on top of Milany. This is the Catalan castle built at a higher height, specifically at 1,529 meters.
