Please do not try e-bikes or similar because the forest floor is soft and sensitive. The path is wg. steep embankment & thick roots practically impassable. The forest can easily be bypassed a little to the south and you will pass the beer garden.

The root path at the Windachspeicher is actually recommendable but certainly not located in the village of Hofstetten. It begins at the end of the sunbathing lawn at the Windachspeicher - parking lot below the dam wall; and leads south of the pond then in the Wälchen, later along it in the direction of Obermühlhausen.
