There's a sign that reads "Cycling prohibited, risk of falling!" Anyone who doesn't have proper control of their bike and injures themselves, possibly requiring hospitalization, is responsible for their own actions. As always, the prohibition signs serve to disclaim liability. Riding over the rocky step at the beginning (S3) requires courage, but is no problem for experienced mountain bikers; the rest is more like S2 at most.

A beautiful, challenging trail, not for beginners; some basic technical knowledge is required. There are several points with two difficulty levels (root sections, deep gullies, high drops, and a few jumps as well). Access is possible via several routes. A helmet is mandatory on the trail, but it's best to wear protective gear (there are a few tricky spots). It's best to just read the information board; it tells you everything you need to know.

The Lochen Pass is located in the Zollernalb district of Baden-Württemberg and represents the shortest connection from the Balingen area to Lake Constance. Historically, its importance lies in the connection of the Heuberg region to the Alb foothills.

Beautifully laid out🚴🏽 trail, the upper part stays wet for a long time after rainfall.

You should be sure of what you are doing. Was lucky enough to ride behind a local guy on the first ride. Who braked in time.

Beautifully designed single trail with some berms and "Northshore" elements. (Some would also describe it as a wooden bridge) I would describe the difficulty as S1 to S2. In the lower section, shortly after the bridge over the creek, after a few curves, there is a surprisingly small drop. At the bottom, the signage is a bit confusing, you have to take the gravel forest path and only after the signpost turn left onto the single trail.

Very exciting and also suitable for cautious beginners. Steep but doable
