The SaaleHorizontale is a hiking trail that lives up to its name. It was rightly voted Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in 2023. A wonderful walk with stunning views and highlights. At times, you won't even notice how close you are to the city. A must-do hike!

Shell limestone rubble covers the slope and does not reveal any stratification: The periodically pouring spring contains a lot of lime, which has created the extensive freshwater lime deposits below the spring. The SaaleHorizontale hiking trails are highly recommended. You'll be rewarded with wonderful views over the city and into the distance. Very well signposted. Regular benches are available.
