One of the largest waterfalls in Europe… unfortunately, like many places, currently experiencing water shortages

Lots of adventure options, but not cheap and very overcrowded on nice weekends.

The Rhine Falls, formerly also called the Great Laufen, is one of the three largest waterfalls in Europe.

A truly impressive waterfall! 🌊👍 There are many different viewpoints and vantage points – absolutely breathtaking! 🙂 We had rather chilly, rainy weather in May 2023, but luckily we had excellent weatherproof clothing. 🙃 It was a fantastic experience at the start of our 2023 Rhine cycling tour! 👌

On the rock trip No. 1 Yellow Line you can experience the Rhine Falls from a unique perspective. The ship takes you to the heart of the Rhine Falls, the mighty central rock. During a 20-minute stop there you have the opportunity to climb the more than 100 steps to the 30-meter-high viewing platform. The climb is worth it, once you reach the top you are rewarded with a unique 360-degree view of the Rhine Falls. On the return trip to the harbor there is another incomparable photo backdrop!
