Memorial stone

A speeding MTB almost ran over me (hiker) here. Hiking trail not suitable for MTB. Too narrow, too tight. endangers, coerces, harasses hikers. In Baden-Württemberg, hiking trails less than 2m wide are not permitted for MTB. Hopefully soon in the rest of Germany too. Alternative: MTB CLUBES, step on the gas and design your own trails in collaboration with forest owners and authorities. It already happens to some extent.

Beautiful trail that becomes increasingly narrow from Sandershausen to the smugglers' gorge. No problem at the beginning even with the touring bike, towards the end there were also narrow, rooty passages that I gave up on my gravel bike and pushed briefly. Definitely worth a detour through the scenery!

The Fahrbach Trail leads steeply uphill from the Fahrbachtal Hut on the premium hiking trail to the Schwedenhütte. It's very steep, with many roots and loose stones along the ascent, requiring a certain level of cycling skill. The descent is more for those who can and enjoy it. I personally cycled from the Waldschlösschen Fahrbachtal up to the Fahrbachtal Hut on the premium hiking trail. I didn't see any signs prohibiting cyclists in that direction. However, there is a sign prohibiting cycling at the turnoff leading downhill from the Fahrbachtal Hut. Most of the photos here for this highlight are from this section of the trail.

It's always fun to let it fly on the trail, very varied surfaces. Whether you are a pro or a beginner, everyone will like it! Just watch out for hikers and/or horses as it is a signposted trail.
