The fountain is in a beautifully designed, well-kept park with many benches for resting and picnicking

The path, which was redesigned in 2021, is almost flat for around 3.5 kilometers and offers a lot of interesting information along the way from the time when the Romans secured their newly conquered territory in this area around 2000 years ago through the Limes, a border wall. Many panels and large wooden figures try to make the life of the Romans, but also of the Germanic tribes, understandable. In addition, the forest habitat is also presented, including at a station that deals with the birds that live in the forest. Highlights on the circular route are certainly the almost authentic reconstruction of a watchtower and a replica of the border wall of the time, the Limes with palisade, ditch and rampart over a length of 25 meters. References to burial mounds from the Bronze Age as well as various art objects such as the "Germanic tribes" or "Roman shield and sword" testify to the archaeological orientation of the "Limes circular route".

On the way to the Nidda cycle path we pass this small, fine park every now and then and enjoy the refreshment that the cool water of the fountain offers...

Nice place to take a break. You can drink the water from the well ⛲️.
