The Slavic hillfort in Plau am See, often referred to as the hillfort at Burgsee, is a Middle Slavic ringfort dating from the 9th/10th century on the eastern shore of Burgsee lake. The well-preserved, wooded rampart is an important archaeological monument, indicating early settlement and yielding finds of Feldberg and Menkendorf pottery.

The Milk Trail near Leisten is a historic farm road that once served the daily transport of milk from the Leisten estate to the train station in Karow. From there, the milk was transported to the dairy in Malchow. The Mecklenburg Southern Railway Parchim–Neubrandenburg, which opened on January 28, 1885, played a significant role in this transport, enabling onward transport by rail. W. Beust, who owned the Leisten estate from 1817 to 1899, regularly delivered milk to Malchow. Since 2002, sections of the trail have been protected and are considered a regionally significant testament to historic agricultural trails. Particularly noteworthy is that this section of the trail is still lined with old stands of the rare Swedish whitebeam (Sorbus intermedia), whose flowers grow in umbel-like umbels. In 2007, these trees were replanted to preserve the natural heritage. The Milky Way thus represents a piece of regional agricultural history and at the same time a botanical gem in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park.

The source here is located in the northern part of the Wockersee and west of the Wocker tributary.

Iron oxide was found deposited at this spring. This can be seen in the pipe and the stones, which have a reddish color. However, there is so little that it is not a mineral spring. The measurement of the nitrate content showed a low value, so the water quality is good. The pH value showed a value between and 8. This is an alkaline value. Therefore, this spring can be described as an alkaline spring.
