Erftal cycle path for relaxation

The chapel impresses with its Gothic architectural style made of red Tauber Valley sandstone and its artistic decorations. The Kaiserlindenallee with fourteen Stations of the Cross leading to the chapel is particularly impressive.

Beautiful and varied cycle path. From Bürgstadt via Eichenbühl to Riedern, the cycle path runs sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right of the Erf over beautiful new bridges. Then it goes to Riedern into the forest, sometimes moderately uphill and downhill, on forest paths that are easy to ride when they haven't been massacred by harvesters and logging machines. You then cycle past the Bücholdsee (rest area), the cycle path is now called Mühlenweg. If you're hungry, you can stop off at the Wolfartsmühle (good restaurant if open). Check the opening times.🫣 Then it's about 2km to Hardheim.

The Liebfrauenbrunn pilgrimage chapel is a historical and spiritual attraction near Werbach im Taubertal. It was built in the 15th century as an open field chapel and rebuilt in 1902 in the Gothic style. Under the chapel there is a spring that, according to legend, has healing powers, especially for eye problems. The chapel is dedicated to Mary, Mother of Sorrows, and is visited by many pilgrims who ask for her help and intercession. The chapel has rich furnishings, including a grace altar by the artist Thomas Buscher and numerous votive plaques. The chapel is surrounded by an avenue of imperial linden trees and fourteen Stations of the Cross. The chapel is located in an idyllic place in the Welzbachtal, which invites you to linger and pray.
