With water basin for bathing your feet

The first pictures show the Henkersbrunnen fountain, located at the town exit toward Michelbach/Lücke. The Tauber spring is located at the town exit toward Grüb.

Nice hiking trail there. Unfortunately the top of the giant sequoia tree has broken off. The Schöneburg can no longer be seen. Only the remains of the rampart and the moat are visible. A sign points this out.

In the 1970s, a disagreement about where the Tauber actually originates reached its peak: in Wettringen in Bavaria or near Weikersholz in Baden-Württemberg? Since the Klingenbrunnen east of Weikersholz in the municipality of Rot am See is the highest continuously flowing spring, it has been considered the actual origin of the Tauber since 1976. Tour is also good on foot. The Sonnenberg and Sendenberg can also be hiked to the east via Leidenberg as a shortcut. The Deutsches Haus restaurant in Michelbach (2 km south of the Tauber source, the last remaining restaurant from there used to be five) was open yesterday.
