Fords in the Sunder Forest: Traces of the carriage ride to church. They are still there: washed-out ruts in the forest floor, so-called fords. These mark the old church path from Hagenah to Oldendorf, which ran along this route. It was probably used when the parish of Oldendorf was founded, so for over 1000 years. These traces of the old church path were only rediscovered here in the Sunder Forest a few years ago. When it rains, they are clearly visible as water-filled furrows.

The Sunder Lakes area is absolutely beautiful for hiking and cycling. Much has been restored. There's great information about what it was like in the past. Highly recommended.

Here in the land area of the Hohes Moor, there's an information board and a seating area with a great view of the surrounding nature. A break is recommended.

A beautifully landscaped nature trail… very well-maintained with lovely rest and relaxation areas. A large parking lot is available.

Round trip through the Hohes Moor nature reserve between Oldendorf and Elm and an insight into a fascinating natural landscape. In the Hohes Moor nature reserve, the trumpet call of the crane can be heard again, a symbol of the success story of nature conservation in this area. Typical moor plants such as sundew and peat moss have settled here again. Information boards along the circular route provide interesting information about the flora and fauna and the development of the landscape. The route passes, among other places, Oldendorfer Lake, which is one of the oldest nature reserves in the region.
