A truly beautiful spot on earth that we hadn't seen before. We've never seen so many different exotic trees from all over the world in one area before. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. The trails are all very well signposted and easy to walk. You should have a bit of fitness, as there are lots of ups and downs. There are also some narrow, exciting adventure trails for the fit and sure-footed, and the tours can be extended at any time. We really enjoyed ourselves today.

As a reservoir originally created for mining purposes, the Obere Hahnebalzer Teich has been part of the cultural monument of the Oberharzer Wasserregal since 1978 and has been under corresponding protection ever since.
