The source of the Ticino is one of the four sources (together with the Rhine, Reuss and the Rhone) forming part of a hiking trail that crosses the cantons of Uri, Grisons, Ticino and Valais. It is located near the Nufenen Pass, near the border between the Canton of Ticino, the Canton of Valais and Italy. From here the Ticino river originates, which flows for 248 km to Lake Maggiore.
