Even though this small, sacred monument isn't located on the famous Camino de Santiago through northern Spain, perhaps some thoughts from Hape Kerkeling might offer some inspiration in light of the summit cross standing here. The entertainer, famous especially in Germany, walked the Camino Francés in 2001 and kept a diary, which was published under the title "I'm Off Then." In it, he describes his personal encounter with God along the way as follows: "Yesterday, something inside me struck a huge gong. And the sound will resonate. Sooner or later, this path shakes everyone to their core. I know the sound will slowly fade, but if I listen closely, I'll be able to perceive this echo for a very long time."

In good weather, the small, steep climb is worth it - the lookout tower and the view into the valley.

The Kernstockwarte near Kirchberg am Wechsel is located at an altitude of 852 meters on the Wolfenkogel. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Wechsel region. The Kernstockwarte is easily accessible directly from the center of Kirchberg via hiking trails and forest roads.

The cave's passages are more than four kilometers long and extend over several levels. Hermannshöhle is a show cave and can be visited with a guided tour.

It's better to go during the colder season if you want to see bats.

The cave is definitely worth the trip. Beautiful to look at. The tour takes about 1 hour. We had to reserve in advance.

When I was there, the ticket office was closed, but the cave entrance was open. I then briefly climbed to the upper part of the cave; it was extremely cold there. More information here: https://www.hermannshoehle.at/.
