This is supposed to be a downhill track??? Ridiculous

This is the “official” entry to the MTB route, which cannot be seen from Gföhler Straße. The identification for this can be found on the back of the “forest road” sign prohibiting entry.

The Kühberg MTB route is a small hidden MTB gem in the Waldviertel and was definitely worth the journey (by bike) from Krems!

I couldn't figure out exactly where the downhill is, especially since the section specified runs constantly along the stream. But the many stream crossings really put you in a good mood.

The only official MTB route on the “Drosser”. The remaining ridge owned by ÖBF AG is paved with “forest road signs” prohibiting driving.

The trail is part of the official Gr. Kremstal MTB route. The trail starts right next to the road, leads to the Augenbrünnl and then further down to the forest road. The path, which is steep in places and as wide as a towel, runs over roots, stones and steps and is therefore not easy to master. It is also partly quite steep next to the way down, so you should already know what you are doing. The trail is therefore not recommended for beginners. Since this trail is a hiking trail on which there is also a nature trail for children and you can't really avoid it in places, you should definitely not slow down at full throttle here! A great trail that I liked very much.

Entry to Tautendorf (Bachlweg) seven times you have to go through the creek, you have to take spare shoes with you, but a great experience

Nice descent through deep forest in the Schwarzbach valley, later in the Stiefernbach valley alternating forest and meadows. At the end of July 2020, after a few rainy days, the ford at the transition to the Stiefernbach valley had about 20 cm of water over a coarse gravel bed. The path has a number of very damp places, you can arrive well breaded in piles even when the weather is nice. And by the way: I haven't seen a single driving ban on the whole route!
