One of my absolute favorite places! This year we were able to see and hear countless white baroque donkeys, black cattle, geese... The vast landscape alone is worth a visit, a paradise for nature lovers! If you want to avoid the sandy stretch, you can take the path where the carriages also drive. It comes from Illmitz, paths near Schrändlsee.

The rare white donkeys can be seen on the edge of the preservation zone of Lake Neusiedl National Park. There is also a lookout tower (a gift from the Hungarian border guards) for a wide all-round view.

Anyone who is interested in unusual animals should definitely come to Sandeck in Illmitz. The rare albino donkeys await you there, grazing in large numbers on the lush pastures. About 2km from Illmitz you take a dirt road to the donkey pasture, where you have the opportunity to admire the white donkeys up close. A former Hungarian watchtower, which now functions as an impressive observation tower, offers you a wonderful view of the surrounding area. The landscape is breathtaking and observing the rare albino donkeys at Sandeck is an unforgettable experience.
