The Schusterkreuz stood on the forest path to Eisenstadt, ½ hour from Hornstein. Since 2010 there has been a kind of cobbler's stone at the point where a cobbler is said to have frozen to death while walking.

Nice place with a small bridge. Not far from the main path. Coming from the parking lot after about 10 minutes on foot, an inconspicuous path goes to the right.

A tragedy has occurred at the “Schusterkreuz” in the past few days. A journeyman cobbler lost his way in the wintry forest and froze to death helplessly in the night. Next to the blue shoemaker's cross, a memorial stone reminds of the misfortune of the journeyman shoemaker.

At 484 m, the Sonnenberg is the highest mountain in the Leithagebirge. At the summit of the Sonnenberg is the Sonnenbergwarte, a border watchtower built during the Cold War and transferred here after the fall of the Iron Curtain. Today this 15 meter high metal tower can be climbed as a viewing tower and allows a panoramic view, in good weather until the change.
