After exiting the chairlift, walk left up to the Kreuzkogel - here you can enjoy the beautiful view over the ski area.

The Tappenkarseehütte is located just above the lake of the same name and is an ÖAV hut. In summer, it's a popular destination, including for overnight stays. We even managed to get a spot in the camp at short notice, but it was completely full. Because it was so crowded, everything felt a bit like a mass processing operation. Unfortunately, we didn't get the famous Kaiserschmarrn in the evening either; it's only available during the day. There are few vegetarian options, and no (posted) mountaineering food.

A summit that is relatively easy to reach in the Grossarltal. With a view of the Gastein and Grossarltal

Great hike, starting from the Aualm. The last part at the summit is a bit difficult, but with a little caution and concentration it is doable even for a flatlander like me 😉. The view at the top is unique!!!

In my opinion, the most beautiful mountain.

Years ago I went on a hiking holiday with my daughter in Grossartal and then we are here on this mountain. A few music groups were on the road with us as part of a music festival. A heavy storm was approaching us on the mountain from afar and we all sought shelter in the hut. With the music in the hut we still had a great atmosphere until the storm was over. We will never forget that when we raged through the huts in a polonaise.

You can do a great short tour from the Fulseck to the Kreuzkogel!
