The Rofanspitze, the third highest peak in the Rofan Mountains, is an easily accessible and popular summit destination. That is why the rocks are very greasy and therefore slippery in some places.

The Dalfazer waterfall is by far the highest waterfall on Lake Achensee. The water plunges over 60 meters into the depths. This is an impressive natural experience, especially after the snow melts in early summer. You have a great view of the waterfall from a wooden viewing platform. The via ferrata is to the right of the waterfall.

The Dalfazer Waterfall Via Ferrata is a scenically impressive via ferrata right next to the Dalfazer Waterfall. A short, interesting training tour, but the long D passage is quite challenging. Recommended in combination with a family hiking trip, where the experienced via ferrata hiker briefly branches off to the via ferrata and continues the hike at the exit. Via ferrata set and helmet are absolutely necessary.

The Rofanspitze is the third highest peak in the Rofan Mountains. From up here you have a fantastic 365-degree view. The climb requires stamina and surefootedness. The climb to the summit has a gradient of around 40-45%. We saw some who had neither. We hoped that we wouldn't have to watch one of these people fall. You should also use your hands on the last stretch to hold on to the barren rock. The small plateau at the summit cross is made entirely of rock. You should be aware that you are in alpine terrain throughout the Rofan Mountains and be equipped accordingly (drinking lots, alpine shoes, hiking poles, etc. are highly recommended). From up here you can see not only the Zireiner Lake but also the Gruber Lake. This glows a beautiful turquoise color in the sunshine. On nice days it can get crowded here.

The local mountain at Tegernsee 😁 Well attended on weekends and public holidays. In winter, Grödel is recommended for the last 100 meters in altitude.

The short walk to the summit from the Tegernseer Hütte (only 5-10 minutes) is worth it, because from up here you can look down on the hut and Buchstein, and also enjoy an extraordinary mountain panorama, including Blauberg-Kamm, Guffert, Achensee and Rofan, Karwendel and Wetterstein, and with good visibility deep into the Central Alps.

The Rofanspitze (2259m) is probably the most famous peak in the extremely interesting Rofan Mountains - even if it is only the third highest. Thanks to the Rofan cable car, the summit can be reached on a hike along well-marked paths. The panorama can't be beat when the weather is good and the many mountain lakes that you pass on the way up and down are great for cooling off on hot days.
