The drive was very pleasant on a Friday evening. I don't know how it would be with more traffic. The road "alone" is great.

Unfortunately, there's no real alternative to the L360 between Thanheim and Stich. Some of the forest paths on the right leading up to the access road are prone to landslides. After leaving Thanheim, turn right before the arched bridge and laboriously muddle your way uphill past the water supply and the mountain bike trail to reach the bend near the ponds. Absolute horror at the weekend. Despite having enough space, you are overtaken every few meters by one motorcycle after another at well over 100 km/h and at a distance of well under 1 meter. On almost every Alpine pass things are fairly civilized, but what is going on here is just stupid.

The Lochen Pass is located in the Zollernalb district of Baden-Württemberg and represents the shortest connection from the Balingen area to Lake Constance. Historically, its importance lies in the connection of the Heuberg region to the Alb foothills.

Unfortunately, the climb is abused by racing motorcyclists and going uphill is no fun.

Fast descent at 60 km/h in freewheel mode for the brave. Annoyed drivers are sometimes tempted to make risky overtaking maneuvers, even when the road is quite wide.

Apart from the fact that it was on the path, the climb through the forest is good for your fitness. The reward at the top is a great view.

One of the most comfortable of the many ascents to the Alb. 🚴 You can still get up there when your strength has already decreased 😉
