Mud Lake, located in Mud Lake Open Space, is a smaller lake with restrooms, covered picnic tables, and plenty of wildlife nearby.

Jasper Lake (10,814') is located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This kidney bean-shaped lake covers 19 acres near tree-line and is stocked with cutthroat, brook and brown trout. Most of the lake has an open shoreline making it a great place to picnic or fish.

Arapahoe Glacier Trail, located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, is an unmaintained, but well trafficked trail that has amazing views of the Arapahoe Peaks, meadows of wildflowers, and wildlife.

Lake Dorothy is a beautiful alpine lake in the southern part of Indian Peaks Wilderness. At 12,061 ft Lake Dorothy is the highest lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness and can still be frozen over until July.

There are not many signs marking the trail, so please have a good idea of the route before departing. Niwot Ridge has been designated by the United Nations as an International Biosphere Reserve for arctic and alpine research. Please remain on the trail.
