Mesa Arch is a natural stone arch in Canyonlands National Park, located in the "Island in the Sky" area. The relatively flat arch sits directly on the edge of a steep cliff and frames spectacular views of deep canyons, including Buck Canyon and the distant La Sal Mountains.

The **Grand View Point Overlook** is located at the southernmost end of Main Street in the "Island in the Sky" district of **Canyonlands National Park**. It offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the park. From here, you can survey an immense landscape of rugged canyons, mesas, and rock needles carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. You can see the famous **White Rim Road** (a popular off-road vehicle and mountain bike route) and, in the distance, the **La Sal Mountains** and the rock formations of the **Needles District**. A short, easy walk (first paved, then an optional longer trail) leads from the parking lot to the overlook at the cliff edge.

This trail is spectacular, with huge rock walls and cliffs (west), views of the La Sal Mountains and plenty of scenery between north and east, never really difficult but impressive, actually no "technical" sections - but impressively very worthwhile!

This iconic "pothole arch" formed over millions of years as water pooled and gradually eroded away the bedrock at the cliff's edge. Mesa Arch is particularly famous for its spectacular sunrises, when the sun's rays reflect off the canyon walls below, casting a vibrant, otherworldly orange glow onto the underside of the arch. This captivating phenomenon makes it one of the most photographed natural landmarks in the American Southwest, drawing photographers and visitors from around the world to witness its beauty.

Dead Horse Point State Park sits 2,000 feet above the Colorado River and offers amazing red rock canyon views. Though the park is relatively small, some highlights include the iconic Dead Horse Point Overlook, the East and West Rim Trails, scenic stops like Basin and Meander Overlooks, and a campground for overnight stays.

Lovely walk in the afternoon sun, plenty of shade and great underfoot.

This is a stunning overlook of the canyonlands, just a short walk from the road. If you go back to the trail and take the other fork, it leads to a nice overlook, too.
