The Youghiogheny River runs parallel to the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail here around the southern terminus of the trail at Ohiopyle State Park. There are some great views and overlooks of the river along various points of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, especially around miles 6 and 11, but the close-up view of the river near Ohiopyle makes for a great ending or start to the trail.

If you want to ditch your bike for a quick walk up the trail, some people like to take a dip near this pretty, tiered waterfall.

Forbes State Forest encompasses more than 60,000 acres of land. The forest includes 6 state parks, 3 state forest picnic areas, as well as Mt. Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania.

Beautiful little tiered waterfall and ideal swimming spot for summer. The power of the waterfall depends on the seasons, but it can be enjoyed all year around.

There are a number of different waterfalls within Ohiopyle State Park. That being said, Ohiopyle Falls is the most visited cascade in the park since it is so close to the Visitor Center. There is a really big wooden viewing deck just below the falls.

Cucumber Falls is considered the most picturesque waterfall in Ohiopyle State Park. The falls are tucked in the woods, but a bridge and viewing area offer a great viewpoint of the cascade.

Fallingwater is a masterpiece of organic architecture designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It was completed in 1937 and features a cantilevered terrace and water cascading through the house. It's a stunning example of a harmony between architecture and nature.
