I assume the big dirt mounds behind the skate park are for bikes, it's was a little too muddy today to investigate

Terrace Oaks West Park is Burnsville’s largest park, spanning 230 acres of scenic oak woodland and rolling hills. It offers extensive hiking and natural surface trails, mountain bike paths connected to Terrace Oaks East, and nearly 7 miles of cross-country ski trails for winter use. The park features a recreation building that serves as a ski chalet in winter, a reservable picnic shelter and indoor event space, a children’s play area, accessible restrooms, and ample parking. This year-round destination is popular for outdoor activities and community gatherings, offering accessibility and modern amenities.

It's a nice quick mountain bike loop, fast trails, gravel and dirt, worth a quick loop if your are in the neighborhood.

Howard thorsheim was a brilliant psychology professor at St Olaf and one of my closest mentors during my early years as a professor there. he always had interesting research going on with lots of funding and lots of very engaged students. I was totally envious of his success!

Great park, I have been here for Mountain Biking, but today went not realizing it was the same park (I know it as Salem Hills), but it combines with the reserve. Anyway, had a nice hike, lots of other hikers out, and only saw one biker and he was in the parking lot.

It's a quick loop, but it's fun.

Bike trails encircle the whole lake, so there is a nice pedal around the lake in addition to paddling. They have improved the park a lot on south east side called Antlers Park. They have a nice off shoot of Lakeville Brewing Company, which has ice cream, food, beer and drinks. And West Lake Marion park has mountain bike trails and a band shell with weekly free concerts.

This is a great trail for mountain biking and hiking. It's short, but between the city and folks in the neighborhood it's kept clear and the distance between trees is a good 5 feet or so, so none of this tree dodging stuff. :)
