a little known Minnesota SNA that often delivers great sightings of turtles soaking up the sun at this very spot. I always make a point to slow down and dismount here for a break and also look for turtles.

As true for all Minnesota Scientific and Natural Areas, no officially maintained hiking trails exist. Still, unofficial, natural surface trails lead to several beautiful scenic overlooks.

Frontenac is already known for awe-inspiring blufftop views of Lake Pepin. But, this addition at the southwest border brings a new perspective with bluffs overlooking the Pleasant Valley Lakelet and Creek in one direction and the scenic hills of the park entrance in the other. Cool view from an easy walk

Actually more of an Underlook but I guess that isn't a word. Nice trail, runs along side or in the Frontenac State Park

A great view of Rattlesnake Bluff from below. There is a bench where you can sit and rest while you enjoy the view. There is also a hiking trail in Frontenac State Park that you can take to the top of the bluff for a spectacular view from above.

There are signs up at the base of these cliffs asking people not to climb and jump from them, it's private property. They are beautiful just to look at and paddle beneath.

He Mni Can / Barn Bluff is a popular destination along the upper Mississippi River thanks to its geology and the connection to the Dakota people, for whom the place is sacred. Furthermore, the bluff was used as a visual reference for explorers during the 19th century. Today, the area is popular for hiking and recreational purposes.
