The Sugar Hill Fire Tower offers a panoramic view of the Finger Lakes area, overlooking the forest below. To reach it, follow the Finger Lakes/North Country Trail—a quiet, easy, and well-marked path that winds through the forest with waterfalls along the way. Visiting the tower during fall rewards you with a vibrant mix of colors.

Rainbow Falls is the only named waterfall in Watkins Glen State Park. From this point, you are treated to a great view of the falls.

No matter which trail you choose, there is something worth seeing everywhere.

The whole gorge is a great experience! Sturdy shoes are a good idea. 😉

This beautifully engineered trail takes you along the inside of the gorge on what feels like quite a natural route. You hike under a partial rock shelf and above the stepped waterfalls and circular pools of Rainbow Falls. This spot is especially beautiful in the autumn when fallen leaves add color to the glen.

Pretty impressive waterfall on the area of Havana Glen Campground. The water runs right over a cliff into a small pond, all surrounded by rock walls. As the waterfall is part of the campground you have to pay an entry fee of $2.00. These waterfalls, which run over several steps into a small creek, are somewhat hidden at the end of East Catlin Street in Deckertown, close to the town of Montour Falls. Can be easily added to a waterfall hiking loop in that area and are certainly worth a visit.

The trail leads right through the beautiful gorge of Glen Creek. You hike along the steep walls of the gorge and can enjoy the full scenery of this place. One tip: Bring rain gear and sturdy shoes as water constantly runs from the sides of the gorge.
