The forests in this area consist of a healthy mix of coniferous and deciduous trees. There is a wide range of different flora and fauna to see. There are dense areas of forest, but also open plains with dune sand on which beautiful heather plants grow that turn completely purple at the right time of year. A fantastic sight. This route is easy to reach from Putsebaan 30 in Huijbergen. At the height of 40+ Camping/Chaletpark De Staartse Duinen ( www.staartseduinen.nl ). Here you can park your car and then continue on foot. When you walk past the campsite it quickly becomes clear that it is located right next to the forest in a unique location. For example, the hiking trails ''Vos'' and ''Ree'' are very close and easy to connect to. Mountain biking is also ideal here. There are special trails (Single Tracks) for the sporty cyclist.

The fort is still a military domain, so unfortunately it is not accessible. It was used as an army training ground until the recent past. Recently it has been completely abandoned and bats find their home there.

Beautiful flowy wooden wallride on the black MTB trail of Col du Kragge. You can start this wall ride at high speed after a fast descent over a small drop and easy rock garden. Depending on your skills, you can ride the wallride at the top or at the bottom. Nice feature on the course. It's a shame that the surroundings are less beautiful. Next to the land bank and recycling company of the Kragge II landfill

The area consists of sand drifts and dunes and offers a beautiful landscape for walkers. Here are some tips for hikers who want to visit the Staartse Duinen: Keep the weather in mind: the area can get very busy during good weather, so consider going on a day when it's less crowded. Respect nature: the area is protected, so hikers should treat nature with care and follow directions. Bring enough water and food: the area is large and there are few places where you can buy something, so make sure you have enough water and food with you. Be careful with the sun: the area is mostly exposed, so make sure you have plenty of sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses with you. Make use of the walking routes: various walking routes have been set out to help you explore the area.
