Smooth and smooth tracks

The Ruurlo mountain biking trail, located in the Boswachterij Ruurlo within the Gelderland province of the Netherlands, offers a 13.5-kilometer loop featuring approximately 67 meters of elevation gain. The trail comprises 20 different singletracks, with notable sections like the "Zeven Heuveltjes" area, which presents unexpected elevation changes, and the "rabattenbos," where riders cross 12 bridges over deep ditches within a 200-meter stretch. The trail is part of the MTB network Achterhoek and connects with nearby routes in Vorden, Borculo, and Lochem, allowing for extended rides up to 120 kilometers. The route is marked with blue signs displaying the international MTB symbol (a triangle above two circles) and is best ridden counterclockwise (CCW). Riders can stay updated on trail conditions and developments through the MTB Achterhoek Facebook page.

The bridges over many forest ditches are a nice change, they are covered with mesh and therefore stiff.

This Ruurlo route is temporarily closed due to excessive rain. It will also be closed on the weekend of December 2, so check first if it will be open again soon...

There are four really crisp and fun descents along the entire route. If you increase the tempo you can play really nice here 😊😊. But beware, a lot of time and effort is spent on maintenance. Therefore a vignette is mandatory!! But it doesn't cost the earth and is valid for a long time.
