A small rocky hill in Hansta Nature Reserve named in honour of Astrid Lindgren, who helped protect the area. At the top you’ll find a simple stone marker with her name.

Eldgarnsö Nature Reserve offers a wonderfully peaceful loop around the island, with open meadows, ancient oaks, and constant views of Lake Mälaren — perfect for a slow, scenic walk in classic Swedish countryside. This information point lies at the entrance and provides helpful information such as toilet and rest place coordinates as well as a detailed map of the hiking trail. You will also find parking spaces here.

Directly on the path, we pass through 2 big rocks. On the left, there is a small wooden area around the rock, with a table and benches. Really nice to enjoy the view on the lake. But don't forget to turn around: on the rock itself, is a gigantic rune. I almost missed it, as I was focused on the lake view.

There are two walls made of piles of stones, delimiting a former viking settlement. There is an explanation sign (only swedish), and you can go through the walls to reach the view on the lake.

Beautiful place for a rest!

Very nice observation tower with three levels. On the ground floor there is a picknick table. The lake is a nesting en resting site for thousands of birds, and around 200 different species are seen here every year (the local restaurant keeps track).
