The view from the crater isn't worth the long walk. There's nothing extraordinary or impressive at the end. The hike is pleasant enough. So, for those who are tired before reaching the crater, no worries, you can turn back.

Arriving by car is worth seeing and adventure enough for bad drivers. It took us 2 hours from the parking lot to the top and we weren't even the fastest. Even if it's 30 degrees by the sea, up here it goes down to 5 degrees. Overall, very worthwhile, but the view into the crater was disappointing. Everything is very peaceful. At Etna you can look into the pit of hell.

The weather isn't particularly good... but always take something non-slip with you because nothing is secured, certainly none Paths that are marked in the 16th century.....Emergency kit is also a good idea because there was no emergency call at least during corona times or the iPhone emergency button worked but neither heli nor anyone else came in 3 days.... .
