A dune that flirts with the border between Belgium and France. About the dunes: The Dune du Perroquet is a nature reserve in the town of Bray-Dunes, part of the Nord department of France. The 179-hectare area consists of dunes that are directly connected to the North Sea coast, making it the northernmost point of France.

June 2025 in the same place and all around I saw at least twenty rabbits

The Cabour estate is located southwest of the village centre of Adinkerke, south of the Nieuwpoort-Dunkirk canal and north of the E40 motorway and the Moeren. The Cabour estate comprises a range of diverse and particularly valuable heritage. In addition to the aesthetic value of this oldest dune area on the Belgian coast and the important military heritage from the Second World War, the Cabour estate contains scientific and historical data that refer to its origins and occupation history, as well as a range of relics that bear witness to an extensive defence system that was built on the estate during the First World War. In addition, there are still traces and relics of the military hospital that was set up in the vicinity of the castle in 1914-1918 and of a water extraction system that was built in the eastern part of the estate. This water extraction system formed the basis of the decades-long post-war water extraction on the estate and led, among other things, to the establishment of a de-ironing station during the interbellum, which was based on a process that was revolutionary for that time.
