Unfortunately, not much water always runs down when it is drier.

In a word: breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to these caves. The Padirac Gorge is without a doubt the most beautiful in France, and its dimensions are extraordinary. Another great feature is that the cave tour is narrated with an audio guide (in your own language). During the tour, a boatman will be waiting for you for a small boat trip through the caves. Plenty to admire: Giant limestone concretions, underground lakes, incredible serpentine sculptures, impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The only downside (as far as I'm concerned): it's very touristy. Tip: combine a visit to the caves with a visit to Racomadour (the city in the rocks).

Unfortunately there is no view directly from the road, only from the hiking trail.

It's hard not to be amazed by the Gouffre de Padirac. More than a hundred meters deep and crossed by an underground river (which you will have to take for 500m thanks to the boatmen), the visit to this gem, although short, plunges us into another universe. It’s an experience you absolutely have to live.

Even if there is little water in the summer, it is still a nice location to take a rest

Enjoy the sound and the beautiful view. Please take your time. In high summer it is quite a job to get to the top.

Monumental natural cavity 35 meters in diameter and 75 meters deep. It is the first underground site in France. At the bottom of the abyss, flows the Padirac river and the temperature drops to 13°, which is quite pleasant in summer. Access to the site is paying and can be visited by boat.

You can easily reach the foot of the waterfall in just over half an hour from Autoire (follow the signs). From here the path begins in serpentines up the rocks - difficult, but worth it because of the great view!

The Cirque d'Autoire, an emblematic nature reserve of the Lot Dordogne valley, is formed by high limestone cliffs from 150 to 200 m high. In the hollow of the circus lies the small village of Autoire , classified as "Most Beautiful Villages of France". An impressive 30 m high waterfall flows in the heart. The circus also houses the ruins of the Château des Anglais , a remnant of the 100 Years War. Formerly used as a lookout, it is a huge fortified rock shelter, attached to the cliff.

Imposing 80 m high waterfall at Autoir, only accessible on foot. Here you have to leave your bikes up and walk about 500 m steeply. But it's worth it. Then it goes up a steep ridge, here you have to push 150. But the view from the top of the waterfall that follows is also worthwhile.
