Even though the two sources of the Saar headwaters are less than 1km apart, they only join after flowing for over 26km each.

The view is almost all the way around and is very impressive. Furthermore, the mountain is a kind of open-air necropolis: many inscriptions carved into the rock commemorate the fierce battles and, above all, the fallen on both sides.

One of my favorite places in the Bruche Valley. Below the Champ du Feu, the vegetation fades to enhance the landscape. You can perfectly observe the Donon and the surrounding peaks in a hilly landscape, especially if you climb Mont Saint-Jean. The place is perfect for a picnic in summer. And for the most gourmet, the Perheux farmhouse inn is only a few meters away.

And don't forget, the source of the white Saar is not far away from here.

A beautiful hiking destination together with the military cemetery. You can supplement this with a visit to the source of the white Saar.

From here you can not only start a bike tour towards the estuary. From here you can also take the Saar hiking trail to Konz. However, a bike ride along the Saar to the mouth is a unique experience. Above all, you meet a lot of friendly people in France who are always there to help you.

Despite its 50 meters less, the Petit Donon has nothing to envy to its big brother, the Donon, over which it offers a magnificent view. Going up there is well worth the detour.
