The Coll del Matxo Mort, like other passes and hills in the region, was historically used as a shepherd's path or trade route between villages. The name "Matxo Mort" has an origin linked to local legends, historical anecdotes or events that occurred in the area. The track is in good condition and access to here is suitable for all audiences.

The area stands out for its natural beauty and its historical significance as a traditional passage between the coast and the interior. The cross that gives the place its name is a symbol of faith and protection, typical of ancient pilgrimage routes. From here, the route begins its descent towards Sant Feliu de Guíxols, offering a landscape experience that changes between the greenery of the forest and the proximity of the Mediterranean.
