The Montejo de la Vega de la Serrezuela Bird of Prey Refuge, also known as the Zorro Refuge, is a protected area. The refuge is famous for hosting one of the most important colonies of griffon vultures in Europe, with more than 750 pairs counted in 2024. In addition to griffon vultures, the refuge is home to other birds of prey such as the golden eagle and the Egyptian vulture.

Bocigas de Perales is flanked by impressive karst formations that you can climb to contemplate the landscape. From there you can also see the beautiful Romanesque church of San Pedro Apóstol.

Essential visit for lovers of nature and ornithology. Just keep in mind that in order to walk the paths of the Natural Park during the nesting season, it is necessary to request administrative authorization.

Impressive views of the limestone cliffs and sightings of the largest colony of vultures in Europe

Spectacular gorge that is located in the old middle of the Hoces del Río Riaza Natural Park and that lets you go down to the waters themselves. The road takes you down to the old heart of the river. A fence appears there indicating that motor vehicles cannot reach it but there is no problem with bicycles!

Space from where you can see a lot of birds of prey, especially vultures that live on the slopes of these walls. It is normal that you see them flying over your heads!

The construction of the dam of this reservoir was completed in 1951 and, during it, more than 52,000 cubic meters of concrete were used.

This corner is dedicated to the magnificent work carried out by many ornithologists and naturalists from all over Spain and Europe, to maintain this enclave that in 1974 the remembered Dr. Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente helped to found.
