Wonderfully relaxed climbing and descending gravel road as an alternative to the asphalt road on the way to the top. Instead of cars, a road full of beautiful views and crackling tranquility. Recommended!

A very challenging climb from north to south. Asphalt and concrete are OK (2022). Over 5 km, it has an average gradient of 12% and a maximum gradient of 22%! Tough it up! The suffering is rewarded with the further ascent to the Pico del Veleta, the highest paved mountain in Europe, on a route with incredibly little traffic, even on weekends. IMHO, the best climb.

I like the ascent further east better. You can also drive a circuit, but the "road" between the two road climbs is not paved.
