In 1997, the cantonal government decided to undertake the necessary restoration and preservation measures at the castle complex to preserve its historic features. After two years of renovation work, the Dorneck ruins are once again open to visitors. The view from the tower over Basel and Dornach is breathtaking.

The Pfeffingen ruins stand on the ridge of the Blauen in Pfeffingen in the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland. A detour that is worth it! Beautiful hike from the Sissacherflue to the Bischofstein ruins and further to the Böckterflue. Always accompanied by great views.

Bierseck Castle is open for visits from Easter to October 31st every Wednesday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. As of 2024 Below the castle is the "Ermitage", the largest English garden in Switzerland. Together with Bierseck Castle, an absolute must-have. There are parking spaces near the castle
