After reaching this peaceful and green hill, where it is sometimes even possible to enjoy horses around, we can have a panoramic view of the area in which, of course, the Mugarra stands out right next to it, imposing itself over the area. If you are going to climb Mugarra, it is an ideal point to stop to regain strength before the last stretch.

This summit is part of the eastern foothills of the Eskuagatx massif. Legend has it that on this hill, in the place from where you can see the lamp of the Urkiola sanctuary, a treasure is buried.

Iturriotz is the last elevation of the Saibigain massif separated from Saibi (946 m) by the same hill (758 m), located to the W. It is a modest hill dedicated to pine plantations and therefore affected by changes from time to time. weather. From Alto de Urkiola (713 m) I take the track towards Saibi (946 m) and reach the pass that separates it from Saibi Txiki (856 m) taking the track that borders Saibi on the left until descending to the Iturriotz pass (758 m). ). From here a track borders the level after overcoming a fence to climb up to the top marker.

Saibigain (946m) is short, easy and with luxurious views of the Urkiola rocks in Duranguesado. Also from here you can see the Alava plain. Little more can you ask for!
