I went on this 15/5/2025 give it another week and it won't be any fun on a bike unless you ride a horse.

Nice MTB descent to the Monsal Trail and Monsal Dale, or techy climb towards Brushfield

This has got to be the best descent in this area, fast flowing and loose virtually all the way down, it’s one of those descents that’s “as fast as you dare” but watch out for walkers especially in the Spring and Summer when the foliage is full, the Autumn and winter months will give you clear unimpeded view of the trail to enable you to “Hit it” 😉

Nice Gravel road high up with great views of the valley, gets much steeper & rockier as it drops down into the Monsal Trail. The last 3/4ml is a fantastic steep, loose & rocky technical mtb descent which you can extend by crossing the Monsal Trail and continuing down to the River. IF you do that be aware there is a narrow & obstructed footbridge to cross the River and you will need to lift your bike above waist height to get across!

This is super fast but be careful as there a few public footpaths that cross this trail, nobody what's to hit someone crossing it. We all what to enjoy the countryside and come home in one piece.

Mellor Lane, nice descent to Sud Brook from Barlow, fun in winter not so much in Summer when it gets badly overgrown. You may be lucky, now and again it's cut back.

One of the more difficult trails in the Peaks. Rutted and rooty. I really struggled on my XC bike without a dropper!

Nice downhill. a little techy. very technical final drop onto monset trail.

Little Princess (Like Me) On gravel bikes might have to be a little careful but its pretty cool and you can nail it! Quite a few Orange sized rocks to keep you concentrated!

Fast trail downhill all the way, ride it gently and enjoy the views or let it rip and make the most of the jumps and dips. Brilliant track, never disappoints in any weather 🏆

The climb out of the brook has now been regraded so it's still steep but smooth, possible to winch up on the granny gear if you don't mind busting a lung (April 2022). Perfect time in the spring as the brambles have not got going yet

Oh man this is an awesome decent if you like speed and flow, I’d go as far to say this is up there with my favourite decents, especially the very top section where it’s loose with high banks each side of the trail, go and enjoy 😉

Steep and rocky climb up from Monsal Trail, (had to do a bit of HikeABike) but once you are at the top it’s a flattish stone road with the occasional gate

Large loose rocks as you start to descend which get smaller the further down you go before ultimately turning into a steep tarmacked road

Absolute bramblefest! Would not recommend in the summer / bramble and nettle season. It ate me alive and through me out the other side feeling a bit stung! Might be nice in winter. The restricted byway sign at the top is misleading, I'd suggest more along the lines of singletrack, but couldn't see for the foliage everywhere!

Watch out for some BIG potholes in the mud by the farm half way down, it's an otherwise fast section, but these holes could easily chuck you off.

Impossible (for me) to ride up from the Brook to the road, too steep & loose/rocky especially as no run-up across the water. The other side is very overgown in the summer, strong gloves, leg & arm coverings are required to fend off the brambles

Technical & Thrilling (for me read "scary") steep drop through the trees, pleny of rocks, ruts, roots and drop-offs. Exactly as described above cuts across the golf course about 3/4 of the way down and a jump out into the road if you're brave (unlike me).

Grab the granny when you hit the water at the bottom otherwise you'll stall trying to climb out.
