Unfortunately, I'm afraid of heights, and this section was really challenging for me in places. But doable. You definitely need surefootedness, though, and you can only concentrate on the rock. Dogs have to be carried in places. We saw people abort the hike with a large dog. Hopefully, then you'll get the last ferry or a place to stay overnight in Mermurubu. The views all the way to the ridge are simply wonderful.

This is a beautiful waterfall on the Storula river. The riverside trails here are a delight to run, just a short hop from Rondane's impressive mountains.

At 5,718 feet (1,743 m), Veslfjellet is the highest point on the famous Besseggen Ridge. In contrast to some of the narrower sections on the route, the summit is relatively broad but the views are still spectacular.
