Beautiful beech forest as the start and end point of our walk.

From the bridge, you can already see the first beaver dam. Further on, there's another one, and you'll also see beaver lodges and information boards about our friend, the beaver. But here too, the area is packed with information boards, both old and new. There's also a picnic table.

In the 18th century, this was a pedestrian crossing, especially for residents of the hamlets of Werchter located across the Laak River. Tremelo was not yet an independent municipality or parish at the time. The residents relied on Werchter for their civic and religious duties.
