「デ・テュート」自然保護区は、ケンペン高原の麓にあります。ロースターベーク川はこの地域に広い谷を刻みました。この変化に富んだ地形のおかげで、針葉樹林、ヒースランド、池、河畔林など、多様な植物群落が発達しました。保護区入り口にある顕著な高原の縁からは、リンブルフ州中部の大部分の素晴らしい景色を眺めることができます。

The Willekensberg is a nature reserve and a hill, characterized by sunken roads. The hill offers views of the Demer and Zwarte Beek valleys. The summit of the Willekensberg is approximately sixty meters above sea level. At this highest point in the municipality is the Chapel of the Beukeboom. This place was already mentioned in 1770 under the name 'Willekensbosch'. After 1945, the hill was planted with conifers for the production of mining timber, but was gradually converted into deciduous forest after the area came into the possession of Natuurpunt. Beringen mine spoil heap is a nature reserve on the territory of Koersel (part of Beringen) and is located on Terril number 2 of the former Beringen coal mine. Between 1941 and 1949, 11,600,000 m³ of stone was dumped here. Beringen mine spoil heap is owned by the Agency for Nature and Forests. The mine was closed in 1989 and the spoil heap was cleaned up in 1995. Herbs were sown and the whole was made accessible to the public. At a height of 125 m, 100 m above the surroundings, there is a plateau from which one has a view of the surroundings. The birds include the skylark, tree pipit, meadow pipit and lapwing. The queen page and the blue-winged grasshopper are some of the rare insects that occur in the area.

A nature reserve of 540 hectares, located along the upper reaches of the Grote Nete in the municipality of Balen. What is special about this area is the combination of two completely different natural cores that seamlessly connect to each other. The Most is an extremely wet valley area, while the higher Keiheuvel is characterized by dry open land dunes.
